Broken things heal with newfound strength in ways we never expect.

  • I like to provide a friendly, accepting atmosphere where you direct the course of your treatment, and I use my expertise to guide you to strategies for living a better life. I specialize in helping young adults find their path to happiness and success, I am LGBTQ+ informed (my pronouns are she/her) and take pride in working with the queer community, and I also work with pregnant people and new parents, helping to navigate the massive transition that comes with the birth of a child.

I graduated with my master’s degree in 2011 from the University of Michigan, and have worked both in the public and private sectors in Michigan as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and have been certified by the National Association of Social Workers, the NASW, to hold high ethical standards in my practice (ACSW).

I am a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) and possess the knowledge and skill to treat mild substance use disorders in an outpatient setting. I am a firm believer in medication-assisted treatment, harm reduction strategies, and surrounding yourself with a supportive sober community.

I strive to balance validating feelings and challenging any irrational thought patterns that come up. I like to see my clients come to session with things to talk about, and use the coping skills we discuss in between sessions, because that’s how real progress is made. I am also aware of the limits of therapy, and suggest seeking a prescriber for medication when appropriate. Whether it's through learning a variety of coping skills, or simply through talking things out, I am able to provide whatever you may need to start feeling more empowered.

  • People often tell us what we need instead of asking us. Not considering that you know you best.

I can provide a nonjudgmental space to help you identify your needs, heal past hurts, set your boundaries, and develop the future you want.

I am passionate about joining you to support your personal growth and learning. Growth is not always a straightforward path, but I believe in the process for all ages and stages. I have worked with a wide age range of clients with a focus on teens and young adults.

I utilize an eclectic approach developed over the past decade of service, with experience in social justice and child welfare. I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2011, and have been fully licensed (LMSW) since 2014.

I look forward to speaking with you.

Inclusive and Welcoming:

We approach therapy with a feminist orientation, and try to be mindful of all the systemic ways that people have been harmed by the patriarchy, as well as what barriers still stand in our way. We try to be mindful of our white privilege, and use it to uplift and support BIPOC. We will point out issues of power and control wherever they exist, and try to help restore a balance of power.

Can a man still be brave if he's afraid?
That is the only time a man can be brave.
